BMW teams up with Bang & Olufsen for 6-series Gran Coupe

650i and M6 by BMW Individual to feature unique interior details in addition to a 1,200-watt sound system

BMW is partnering with Bang & Olufsen to create a limited edition run of 2015 6-series Gran Coupe sedans which will feature the latest in-car sound technology from the Danish audio experts. The sedan will showcase Bang & Olufsen's 1,200-watt sound system, with audio pumped into the cabin through no less than 16 individual speakers finished in brushed black aluminum coupled with Bang & Olufsens high-end Surround Sound system. Since this is a special edition made by BMW Individual, customers will have a choice of special interior and exterior color combinations specified for this model.

Buyers will be able to choose between Brilliant White Metallic or Dark Graphite II Metallic for exterior colors, while having a choice of Opal White & Black or Black Merino leather for the interior. The seats will feature piping and contrasting stitching, while the floor mats will feature special badging unique to this model.

Just 100 examples of the BMW Individual Bang & Olufsen Edition will be produced, offering a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine making 445-hp coupled either with rear-wheel drive or BMW xDrive for all season performance. Another ten BMW M6 Gran Coupes will also be a part of this limited run of Bang & Olufsen sedans, and will feature a specially tuned 4.4-liter M6 engine which has been dialed up from 560-hp to 575-hp. The 650i models will be coupled with LED lighting, Driver Assistance Plus, M Sport, Executive, and Cold weather packages, while the M6 cars will be optioned with Driver Assistance Plus, Executive, and Competition packages. Buyers will also receive a set of Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 headphones.

Two color options will be available for the interior, both in Merino leather.

BMW has announced that the 650i version of the Bang & Olufsen Gran Coupe will start at $116,240 for the rear-wheel drive version, while the xDrive all-wheel drive will start at $119,240. The M6 Gran Coupe will be a bit dearer at $156,423.

BMW Individual is currently accepting orders for these models, with the first examples scheduled to be completed and shipped to customers this summer.
