Hennessey bumps Corvette Stingray to either 650 or 700 hp

C7-based HPE650 and HPE700 supercars limited to just 100 examples each

John Hennessey and his merry band of speed-crazed engineers in Texas have come up with another upgrade for the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray. In addition to the twin-turbocharged 'Vette we talked about in February, the tuner is building 100 units each of the supercharged HPE650 and HPE700 Corvette.

Hennessey will take your stock Corvette Stingray and open it up in order to transplant a high-flow supercharger, HPE air induction system, HPE pulley, new thermostat, gaskets and fluids, crowning the conversion with a serialized dash plaque. The company will also pull the engine control unit and reprogram it with Hennessey's own software. The HPE650 will deliver 650 hp at 6,300 rpm and the HPE700 will predictably put down 700 hp.

Optional upgrades include aero tweaks to the front and rear spoilers and side sills, monoblock wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, Brembo brakes, Penske adjustable suspension and a custom interior.

The HPE650 starts at $15,950, while the HPE700 goes for $22,500. That is in addition to the cost of a new Stingray. For that, you'll get the fastest 'Vette on the block. Unless, of course, you order the HPE650 and your neighbor orders the HPE700. Boy will that be egg on your face.
