Maserati celebrates birthday with GranTurismo MC Centennial Editions

Maserati unveiled the GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition at the New York auto show this week, following up the successful debut of the Alfieri concept a month ago at the Geneva motor show. The GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition, created as part of Maserati's 100th anniversary celebrations this year, will be available both in coupe and convertible form.
The Maserati GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition coupe and convertible will be powered by the same 4.7-liter V8 engine found in the MC Stradale, on which the Centennial is based. However, the Centennial will receive a 10-hp bump in power, bringing the output up to 454 hp. The warbly V8 powerplant will be paired with a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. The Centennial is said to be able to do 185 mph, and just like the MC Stradale it will come equipped with dual cast Brembo brakes and a sport-tuned MC suspension.
"The GranTurismo MC Centennial range are vibrant offerings which reference the storied passion and romance of the Maserati tradition," said Peter M. Grady, president and CEO of Maserati North America. "Along with the Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans, which have found a welcome reception in the market, the sporty new GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition coupes and convertibles are for those who desire inspired automobiles."

A number of interior color options will be available, in addition to two new exterior colors.
The Centennial Edition will be available in two new color combinations: magma red and Inchiostro blue, along with the four colors available on the GranTurismo MC Stradale. In addition, the Centennial Edition will be offered with four new wheel finishes for the MC and Trofeo designs, featuring Maserati's medal-shaped centenary logo on the center caps.
Maserati has added a few custom touches to the interior as well, including seats that will feature contrasting decorative inserts based on three colors of the seat profiles: red, white, and blue. The dashboard will feature carbon fiber inserts, seat surrounds, and a kick plate with the centenary logo.
The MC Centennial Edition coupe and convertible will go on sale in July of this year, with pricing to be announced shortly.
